Job summary
We now have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Practitioner to become part our team. You will have experience of working with children and young people, with a relevant qualification to support this.
The post will work to assist YoutherapY staff to carry out agreed tasks within the team. With particular responsibility for client engagement and participation, the duties will include assisting in assessments, plans of care and interventions with children and young people referred to the service. Under the supervision of a senior member of the service, the post holder will work in a variety of settings including schools, children's centres and primary care centres, reporting complex issues to senior staff.
You will be joining a well-established team of therapists, Primary Mental Health Workers, and senior practitioners. As part of the team, you will provide support to the work of the clinical team in order to boost their capacity to meet clinical demand. You will work, under supervision, with children, young people, parents, carers in a variety of ways, including providing assessment, advice and group work to clients aged 11-25 with psychological and emotional difficulties, under the guidance and supervision of senior staff members.
Main duties of the job
Providing assessment, advice and group work to the client group, their families and carers.
Developing good working relationships with colleagues, children/families/partner agencies/schools and other professionals.
Recruiting and retaining new members of the Youth Team.
