Job summary

We are looking for a well-organised and experienced Physiotherapist to join our MSK Service to cover a spell of maternity leave.

Whilst undertaking comprehensive assessment and diagnosis of patients with a wide variety of physical and emotional needs, you must formulate, deliver, review and progress individual treatment programmes and ensure effective treatment, specialist advice and timely discharge are achieved.

You will receive supervision/mentorship and training from senior colleagues as part of this new role.

Main duties of the job

Clinical

  • To utilise musculoskeletal expertise to function as a clinical specialist managing a varied clinical caseload within designated clinicalenvironments
  • To conduct all clinical interventions and related actions in line with relevant professional standards
  • To demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development and to maintain a contemporary record of such activity, in line with recommendations of CSP and HCPC
  • To undertake Audit projects relevant to clinical role

Non- Clinical

  • Communicate regularly and appropriately with MSK colleagues and other stakeholders.
  • Be involved in regularly reviewing and updating the services, including the collation and presentation of basic statistical information regarding the delivery and outcomes of the service provided
  • To ensure that their own personal mandatory training is up to date including refresher training

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • Health Professions Council registered
  • Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
  • Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy.

Desirable

  • Physiotherapy MSc Degree or working towards
  • Relevant Leadership or Management Development Programme

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

Essential

  • Evidence of CPD
  • Significant experience in a senior band6/7 role
  • significant demonstrable post qualification experience in relation to musculoskeletal conditions
  • experience in independently managing musculoskeletal caseload
  • NHS experience
  • Sound knowledge of evidence based strategies
  • Specialist postgraduate study
  • Understanding of clinical governance and its implications for services, including experience of quality issues and audit
  • The requirement to take on more complex work/caseload

  • Evidence in CPD of experience relevant to primary care field or special interest groups e.g. (MACP)
  • Previous experience of health promotion and education
