Job summary
Working within the Risk and Incident Team, the post holder will support the Governance Risk and Safety Lead with the day-to-day management of Trust wide incidents and risk management processes and systems development. The range and diversity of responsibilities will require the post holder to adopt a flexible approach. They will be required to have excellent communication and analytical skills to deal with the day-to-day challenges of maintaining high compliance with each process in line with Trust standards.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be a key member of the Risk and Incident Team and will work effectivelywith the Head of Quality Governance, Governance Risk and Safety Lead, Divisional Triumvirates and Divisional Quality Managers.
The post holder will be proficient in the use and administration of modules of the Trust's risk management system (currently Safeguard) to facilitate the use of the system to its full capacity and function. This will include the ability to design and develop the system to meet the needs of the trust.
The post holder will support the current risk management system, and successor systems as applicable, overseeing development and administration of all modules, but more specifically within the risk and incident modules, complaints, PALs, claims, freedom of information, and safety alerts.
The post holder will deliver training on the extraction of data from the system, how to runreports and ensure the quality of reporting is effective. The post holder has responsibility for supporting all staff to increase their knowledge and skills to enable them to efficiently use the trust's risk management system and ensure that effective data is included in reporting.
The post holder will play a pivotal role in the co-ordination of the Trust's 72hr Rapid Reviewpanel process, including the co-ordination of agendas and meeting notes whilst ensuring that shared inboxes and trackers are updated accordingly.

The Risk and Incident team are a small and dedicated group of young professionals supporting the patient and staff safety culture within the Trust. The team work closely alongside other corporate teams, including audit, patient experience, legal, medical education, health & safety, quality governance and quality improvement. - Provide dedicated support to the administration of the Ulysses Safeguard Risk Management System, including, but not limited to the following key activities; structuring and scheduling of reports, development/refinement of web-facing data forms, maintaining data quality standards within the team and wider trust, enacting any changes to the system as required.
- Ensure the Ulysses Risk Management System remains compliant/compatible with the Learning From Patient Safety Events system.
- Support the Head of Quality Governance and the Governance, Risk and Safety Lead in embedding the new Patient Safety Incident Response Framework within the organisation.
- Act as the lead in the co-ordination of the Trusts 72hr Rapid Review panel process including the co-ordination of agendas and meeting notes whilst ensuring that shared inboxes and trackers are updated accordingly.
- Support the Head of Quality Governance and Governance, Risk & Safety Lead in optimising processes both administrative and technical ensuring that the Trusts Risk Management system is maximised to its potential.
- Support the Governance, Risk & Patient Safety Manager to review external and internal operating environments in relation to clinical incident and clinical risk management and to develop effective relationships with stakeholders.
