The post holder will have responsibility for the day-to day management of a multi-disciplined building and engineering estates service covering acute hospital sites and will therefore be a skilled professional with significant management experience in the leadership of estates services within an organisation of comparable size and complexityTogether with managerial responsibility for Atlas Estates staff at all levels, the post holder is expected to provide a customer focused, cost effective and efficient building and engineering service using a combination of in-house staff and a range of independent contractors and professionals, including appointed architects, quantity surveyors, mechanical and electrical consultants, principal contractors, sub-contractors, and specialist contractors
Main duties of the job
Assist the Head of Estates with shaping the future provision of estates services at Atlas. This will include the strategic development of services to ensure they are high quality, progressive, responsive to internal and external demand and fully support the strategic direction of the company and the future operational needs of the service delivery contracts.Assist with the development and implementation of the Atlas Estates Strategy and the associated delivery plan, ensuring that any related financial and estates management resources are correctly planned and prioritised.Use technical and professional building and engineering expertise advice, as necessary, to support the reconfiguration and integration of various services associated with the overall Atlas Estates Strategy.

- Educated to a professional level in a relevant discipline e.g., building services, engineering electrical, mechanical, estates management, surveying or similar.
- Current professional registration member of relevant professional body, e.g., Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE), Institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estate Management (IHEEM), The Institution of Engineering and Technology or be working towards this.
- Management qualification or equivalent leadership experience
- Evidenceof CPD - Continuing professional development
- IOSH Managing Safely
Desirable
- Prince 2 project management qualification or equivalent
- Degree i.e., BA
- Appropriate postgraduate and/or professional qualifications in a relevant discipline as above
