Main duties of the job
At Far North we are proud to be a leader in integrated working which will offer you the chance to work with District nurses and other allied health and social care professionals within a highly skilled multidisciplinary neighbourhood team. You will be supported by colleagues to develop the skills to undertake holistic assessments and care provision to patients in their own homes and clinic settings.

1. Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the individual requirements of patients and carers referred to District Nursing Service.
2. Provide a high standard of evidence based nursing care to patients in the Community.
Clinical responsibilities include:
- Develop and demonstrate underpinning knowledge and clinical competence at advanced skills which include:
- Central line care
- Wound care (simple and complex)
- Vaccination and Immunisation
- Phlebotomy (Difficult and routine)
- Syringe driver use and care
- Doppler assessment diagnostic & ongoing
- Cross-prescribing
- Palliative and end of Life care
