Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a full time Principal Information Analyst, Band 7, to work within the Business Intelligence (BI) department at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust on a fixed term basis for 12 months maternity leave cover (from September 2023)
This is a senior role, leading a team of analysts in the Data Visualisation and Reporting department (primarily focused on Community datasets/systems).
We make data accessible to operational teams to support service developments, performance monitoring, and comply with contractual reporting requirements.
The person we are looking for will be highly numerate, a logical and methodical thinker, a great communicator, and demonstrate initiative and autonomy.
We want someone who is well versed the process of extracting information from data, who can manage a team to deliver Business Intelligence solutions that will support our Trust's information agenda.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will lead the Community section of the Data Visualisation team.
They will be a technical specialist in creating and maintaining business intelligence visualisations and provide support and supervision to a small team of analysts.
They will act as subject matter expert on Trust reporting, analytics and data, representing the team at various project/working groups.
Experience of business intelligence software is essential, ideally SQL Server Reporting Services and Power BI. As is a thorough understanding of SQL to underpin the reports and dashboards developed.
Experience of managing a team is preferred.
