An exciting opportunity has arisen for a capable and enthusiastic band 5 Staff Nurse to join the award winning Occupational Health Team at Blackpool, Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.The Department provides a service to the Staff of the Trust and other commercial and public sector clients.Blackpool, Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is a forward looking and innovative place to work and is committed within its Visions and Values to making the organisation a 'great place to work'. The department is based at Blackpool Victoria Hospital in newly renovated premises. Hours are full time, 37.5 per week working Mon - Fri.You will be a Qualified Nurse who is keen to develop their skills within the field of Occupational Health. Main duties of the job

An opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Registered Nurse in the Occupational Health Department.

Applicants must be highly motivated, flexible, approachable, caring and compassionate, possess excellent communication skills. You must demonstrate a willingness to undertake a PGCE in Occupational Health Practice. You must be able to demonstrate good leadership skills. We are a team committed to ensuring a positive patient experience.

You will be responsible for carrying out immunisations, vaccinations, venepuncture and infection control screenings for new starters. You will also carry out health surveillance screening and provide appropriate advice to managers, and employees, on healthy working initiatives.

The Occupational Health Service currently offers services to provide a broad based well being strategy that will aim to improve health, reduce stress and improve organisational culture within a structured change management process.

  • Substantial post-registration experience

  • Diploma in nursing subject
  • Relevant immunisation and vaccination course
  • Post-registration qualification in related subject

Experience and Knowledge

  • Recent experience in venepuncture
