Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team on the Haematology Ward at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals. The Haematology Ward is a 21 bedded unit which treats acute patients with a variety of conditions. We are a specialist unit and provide treatment such as intensive chemotherapy, stem cell transplantation, blood product support and treatment of neutropenic sepsis. We are a growing service and recently opened our Ambulatory Chemotherapy Unit at the end of the ward which focuses on developing the service.
Training will be provided for central line care, chemotherapy administration and stem cell transplants. We also have a staff well-being team within the unit.
Main duties of the job
- Assist patients with activites of daily living
- Adminster Chemotherapy
- Managing patient care
- Recognising and treating Neutropenic Sepsis
- Stem Cell Transplant administration
- Assessing patients on a daily basis and reviewing plans of care.
- Administering medications
- Central line care
