Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for a highly qualified sexual health nurse to apply for the role of Team Leader for Central Lancashire Sexual Health Services. This is a Full-time post (37.5 hours/week) days and times will be negotiated with the successful candidate following interview. The service is open 6 days a week Monday- Saturday. Clinics are run from 5 sites across Preston, Leyland and Chorley. The Central team has over 40 staff and sees over 10,000 patients a year. The main level 3 hub is delivered from a newly purpose-built health centre. With staff parking and easy access to the motorway and bus routes.

Main duties of the job

The position will be based across the Fatima Health Centre and Talkwize clinic, Preston and the post holder will lead on the management and development of the clinics and the clinical staff in the Central Lancashire locality.

  • First level registered Nurse
  • Completed GUM qualification or equivalent experience
  • MW2127/R71 or equivalent contraceptive course
  • Completed or currently studying at degree or masters level (health related)
  • Post registration certification in mentorship/teaching and assessing (ENB 998/997 or equivalent)
  • Completed or willingness to complete non-medical prescribing course
  • Management qualification or equivalent experience

Desirable

  • Completed First Issue contraception course or equivalent
  • Completion of specialist training for sub dermal contraceptive implant fitting and removal

  • Experience of line managing staff and clinical areas
  • Working within a sexual health setting
  • Ability to independently undertake male and female genital examinations and screening tests
  • Experience of working to PGD's
  • Experience of working with young people
