Associate Director of Finance – Financial Management

Job summary

We are seeking a strategic and highly analytical Associate Director of Finance (Band 8d) to lead our Financial Management function. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will be responsible for ensuring robust and comprehensive financial management consistent with the delivery of key financial and operational objectives. This role is vital for providing effective business analysis and advice to management teams to proactively influence business strategy and critical decision-making

Main duties of the job

The post-holder is responsible for ensuring robust & comprehensive financial management consistent with the delivery of key financial & operational objectives.

Specifically, the post-holder will ensure the trust-wide development of detailed and coherent Income and Expenditure budgets in Clinical Groups and Corporate Directorates in support of the Associate Director of Finance - Financial Planning & Contracting, who will lead the Trust wide budget setting process, effective monitoring and reporting of financial performance against those budgets and oversight of processes to ensure the remediation of any variance from those budgets to secure key financial & operational objectives. This shall include processes for the development and monitoring of necessary & sufficient cost improvement programmes.

The post-holder will ensure the provision of effective business analysis and advice to devolved management teams and support & proactively influence business strategy and critical decision making. This shall include, but not be limited to, an understanding of service line profitability and development of strategies and specific proposals for service & financial improvement.
