Job summary

The Delivery Suite Coordinator is a senior clinical and operational role responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective running of the delivery suite. This role provides real-time oversight of patient flow, staffing, and escalation of clinical and operational risks, particularly during periods of high demand or out-of-hours.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating staffing and workload to maintain safe patient care and compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Supporting the clinical team in clinical decisions, helping ensure safe, timely, and effective care delivery

  • Ensuring timely escalation of risks and incidents to maintain patient safety and operational efficiency.

  • Monitoring and improving operational performance through effective communication, workflow management, and resource allocation.

  • Acting as a senior point of contact for both clinical and non-clinical queries within the delivery suite.

This post is essential for maintaining service continuity, reducing avoidable costs, and ensuring compliance with national maternity safety standards. The role is funded for a 12-month secondment to backfill maternity leave.

The second role is for a 6 month fixed term contract. Please state in your application which role you are interested in or you will be considered for both.

Main duties of the job

Main Duties - Delivery Suite Coordinator (12-Month Secondment)

  • Provide senior oversight of the delivery suite to ensure safe, efficient patient flow and staffing.

  • Support the clinical team in timely and safe clinical decision-making.

  • Monitor and escalate risks to maintain compliance with regulatory and safety standards.

  • Improve operational efficiency and resource use, reducing delays, duplication, and avoidable costs.

  • Act as senior point of contact for clinical and operational queries, facilitating effective communication across the team
