Job summary

The role of the Trust Chief Nursing Officer ensures that patients cared for within the Trust receive compassionate care and that quality meets their needs at all times. The role will contribute to the strategic and corporate direction in the Trust and across the Group working alongside their Executive and senior managerial and clinical colleagues.

Main duties of the job

To provide strategic leadership to the Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professional (AHP)workforce within the organisation.

To provide advice to the Board, managers and senior clinicians on any matters relating to the Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professional body.

Manage and lead on the quality, safety and patient experience agenda.

Work closely with the Chief Medical Officer to develop a culture which embeds Clinical Quality and Governance and monitors its effectiveness.

Support the Director of Infection Prevention and Control in developing strategies to ensure effective IPC is in place across the organisation.
