Job summary

Are you an Advanced Clinical Practitioner with a desire to work in a fast paced Urgent Primary Care Service (UPCS), providing care to our residents that are attending Midland Metropolitan University Hospital who are in need of urgent care for minor illness.

We are looking for Advanced Care Practitioners who have a background in unscheduled Emergency/Urgent Care to work in our UPCS

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our small team delivering our urgent primary care service at MMUH front door. This post is directed at qualified independent ACP's.

The post holder will demonstrate a developing the knowledge and skills of advanced assessment, examination, diagnosis and treatment within an agreed scope of practice to dleiver care for patients requiring urgent care for minor illness

The post holder will be a 1st level registered nurse or registered healthcare professional holding an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice. The post holder will deliver care that is under pinned by the Multi Professional Framework four pillars of clinical practice: leadership, management, education and research.

Main duties of the job

-Practice autonomously as part of the GP workforce roster for delivering urgent care

-Undertake assessment of individuals using a range of different assessment methods, which may include physical examination, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests or advanced health needs assessment;

-Diverse range of knowledge in their decision-making to determine evidence-based therapeutic interventions; this may include prescribing medication and actively monitoring the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions;

-Deliver care that is under pinned by the Multi Professional Framework four pillars of clinical practice: leadership, management, education and research.

-Working as an autonomous practitioner within a defined clinical area, delivering all aspects of management and care to a wide range of patients with varying needs, encompassing advanced clinical assessment, critical thinking and clinical management skills that are evidence based and deliver high quality patient centered care in accordance with theirscope of practice.

-To work closely with all members of the multidisciplinary team and play an integral role in the operational/strategic development of the service, promoting and facilitating evidence-based practice and clinical audit and research.

-To support new ways of working that emphasise a more efficient and patient focused service, ensuring the safe treatment, referral and discharge of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed presentations in their area.
