Applications are invited for the substantive Consultant Breast post. The post is based in Birmingham Treatment Centre on the City Health Campus site
This particular post requires a highly skilled breast radiologist who has specialised in breast during their training and holds UK experience at Consultant grade. We are seeking a candidate to work within a cohesive and supportive breast multi-disciplinary team and to provide a quality service in both symptomatic and screening settings. Radiologist will cover dedicated breast sessions (up to 9 PAs). We currently have one vacancy for a full time post 10 PA role.
Main duties of the job
The service has encompassed the full 4 tier skill mix thus supporting learning and development opportunities at all levels. The team includes seven Consultant Radiologists, three Consultant Radiographers, Advanced Practitioners, Radiographers and Assistant Practitioners.
The Surgical team includes breast surgeons, two with Oncoplastic reconstruction expertise, Nurse Consultant - Breast and Breast Care Nurses. The multidisciplinary team is innovative, cohesive and forward thinking; participating in multiple national research and audit trials including the Prospect trial. The service has recently been subcontracted for high risk screening and also supports the high risk population from Russell Hall hospital.
