Job summary

We are looking to recruit an Advanced Cardiac Physiologist within our CRM, Arrhythmia and Interventional Cardiology teams. They should hold full BHRS or equivalent accreditation.The post would also suit an experienced Specialist Cardiac Physiologist who is looking to further develop their CRM, Arrhythmia and Interventional Cardiology skills. Support will be given to achieve accreditation.

The Cardiology Department at Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals offer a wide range of invasive and non-invasive cardiac diagnostic investigations and interventional procedures to the patients in the Sandwell and West Birmingham areas.

The main duties of this post are to work independently with a high level of skill and autonomy at an advanced level performing basic and complex device implants and follow up clinics (F2F and remote), perform a technical role during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures which includes participating in the 24/7 on-call team, perform tilt tests and Exercise tolerance tests.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be an experienced cardiac physiologist working independently with a high level of skill and autonomy at an advanced level within CRM, Arrhythmia and Interventional Cardiology.

To provide a detailed analysis of the ambulatory recordings, and produce a clinical report, of normal and abnormal findings, to aid consultant decision in clinical diagnosis.

To be fully conversant with the full range of event and loop recorders / monitors available to patients, including the download, analysis and provision of a clinical report to aid consultant decision in clinical diagnosis.

To be responsible for performing the technical role during diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterisation.

Recognition and interpretation of electrographic signals and pressure waveforms, with subsequent advice to the operator of optimal catheter sites and intraoperative complications.
