- Participate in the 24/7 PPCI on call rota
- Rotation between Cath Labs andCardiology Day Unit
- Scrub nurse programme
We will offer you training to develop your skills for learning to co-ordinate and prioritise care in a busy and fast paced environment. Our comprehensive competency-based training will ensure you are on the path to success within the clinical setting.
Your development will be supported with various training opportunities, such as cardiology conferences and in house events.
With two state of the art Cardiac Cath labs and plans to expand to three, this is a great opportunity to join at an exciting time for the department and team.
Main duties of the job
To co-ordinate the department as a whole, effectively maintaining patients flow through the department.
To co-ordinate the activities of the nursing team, on a shift-to-shift basis, and provide skilled nursing to patients, in accordance with responsibilities under the NMC Code of Conduct.
To supervise the activities of the multi-disciplinary team, promoting collaborative working relationships to facilitate the rapid delivery of holistic, seamless care for all patients.
To prioritise care needs, ensuring the delivery of a quality service through effective leadership and efficient deployment of available resources.
Be passionate about cardiology, demonstrating your excellent interpersonal skills, your commitment to patient governance, quality improvement and patient safety. As a dynamic nurse we will nurture and encourage you to work on your own initiative, prioritising the patient and their needs. We will consider your previous experience and help you see your future self with us. Band 5 applicants will be considered for a developmental opportunity.
You will be expected to work alongside the band 7 senior team in supporting them in pushing the service forward.
