Job summary
The Trust is seeking to recruit an ST6/ST7 /Post CCT fellow level doctor for this exciting Clinical Fellow post to join a busy gynaecological team at Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH), starting as soon as possible. This is not a Deanery/Health Education England-funded training post, and the post does not come with an NTN

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be based at the MMUH and affiliated sites, working within a team of 16 Specialist registrars (on both sites). This appointment will support the Obstetrics & Gynaecology Team through the provision of emergency on-call in MMUH. This post provides senior registrar grade support and promotes the continuing provision of high-quality Obstetrics and Gynaecology at MMUH. The appointee will have experience in the diagnosis and management of Obstetric and Gynaecological problems.
The post holder would have the opportunity to advance their training in Gynaecological Surgery. The opportunities for surgical training in the department include: Open Surgery, Laparoscopic Surgery, Hysteroscopic Surgery, Gynaecological Oncology (Unit Level) and Endometriosis Surgery. There is also an opportunity to get exposed to Robotic Surgery. We are accredited by BSGE as an endometriosis centre. We deliver dedicated clinics and scanning sessions for endometriosis and perform excision of endometriosis as required. We received the BSGE accreditation as the endometriosis centre this year. The post holder will have an opportunity to complete the SITMs of Benign Gynaecological Surgical Care, Therapeutic Hysteroscopy, and Management of Complex Non-malignant Disease. The post will have opportunities to do research and audits. The interest of the successful candidate will be taken into consideration if they would like to focus on a specific area.
The post will be for 24 months.
