WMSTN Patient Engagement Coordinator

Job summary
The post holder will be based between the Sickle cell and Thalassaemia (SCaT) service at Midland Metropolitan University hospital and the haemoglobinopathy unit at Birmingham Children's hospital. You will be working onsite with a small team of clinicians and administrative staff within these hospitals. Within your role you will liaise with other multidisciplinary teams - including patient experience and communications. Your work may also link you with local GP's, local and national community teams and voluntary organisations. You may often be required to work offsite with teams and patients throughout the wider Midlands network. The successful candidate will have excellent social media skills and enjoy event planning. This role is patient facing and will involve regular regional travel to other haemoglobinopathy centres within the Midlands.
Main duties of the job
- Data collection, entry and validation - including liaising with other Trusts within the Midlands network to prevent gaps in patient data
- Develop good working relationships with the Midlands regional network
- Regularly visit local haemoglobinopathy centres to arrange local patient engagement events and to gather patient feedback
- Support the Midlands Regional network with event planning
- Assist with developing surveys, collating responses and reporting of patient experience
- Provide general administrative duties, including filing, photocopying and answering telephones
- Direct patient contact
