In a busy and fast paced environment, you will be supported through a competency based training programme to integrate and work confidently within the team. We will offer you training to actively provide assistance for Cath Lab and Cardiology Day Case patients in pre-procedure, during procedures and post procedure environment, including inpatients
You will assist the team in the pre-operative and post-operative cleanliness and maintenance of medical equipment for functionality.
With support you will be responsible to help maintain a safe environment, and assist as directed to care and move equipment, supplies, blood andspecimen products, and pharmacy items.
Supporting stock management within the Cath Labs and Cardiology Day Case will be an important part of the role.
We would welcome candidates who do not hold the Level 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker qualification as this could be offered during employment.
Main duties of the job
- To proactively support patients, nursing team and wider MDT within the Cath Lab and Cardiology Day Unit. Act as a circulating person during procedures (when fully trained).
- Perform venepuncture and cannulation.
- Undertake recording of 12 lead ECG's
- Support transfer of patients to and from cath labs/day unit/wards.
- To work with the team to ensure a high standard of cleanliness is maintained as per infection control.
- To support stock levels/scan and receipt stock.
- To ensure that equipment is clean at all times, stored safely and faults are reported.
