Job summary
As a breast screening service actively catering for an eligible population of 175,000 within North, East and West Birmingham, Sandwell & Walsall area, we are energetically engaged in several key national breast trials such as Prospects and Mammo 50. The breast unit is looking to expand through lateral growth to incorporate new technologies such as CESM and ABUS alongside current technologies such as tomography. We are seeking a hardworking and dedicated Advanced Practitioner to undertake interventional stereotactic procedures, to join our forward thinking breast care team and to assist in the management of the Mammography service as directed by the Superintendent Radiographer and also to undertake appropriate advanced practice to agreed standards for the division and NHSBSP. Trainees may be considered on a Band 6 training contract whilst training. Main duties of the job
The Advanced Practitioner - Mammographer Radiographer will undertake Stereotactical procedures by liaising and undertaking clinical procedures with the guidance from our highly skilled clinical team in the breast unit.
You will bean expert in all areas of breast stereo procedures, such as biopsy, wire / tag localisations and marker clip placement, adhering to agreed protocols and standards and provide written reports after synthesising patient history seeking a second opinion where necessary tooperate within, organise and supervise service provision in both the Breast Assessment and the mobile Mammography Units.
Responsibilities will also include assisting in the management of: Mammography service as directed by theProgramme, Manager/Superintendent Radiographers. To undertake appropriate, Advanced practice to agreed standards for the division and NHSBSP.
