We have settled into the new acute Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH) we are looking to expand our Advanced Practice led Acute Oncology Service. This is an exciting time to join the team as either a qualified Advanced Practitioner or as a trainee. The service is a front door facing service working closely with the emergency department and SDEC to ensure patients presenting to SWBH with an Acute Oncology presentation are given the highest quality timely care by providing specialist input at the point of arrival.
Main duties of the job
To provide specialist input for patients presenting with complications of their cancer or it's treatment. The role will be mainly based at the front door, but will also include ward reviews and support for the chemotherapy day unit which will be based at Sandwell Hospital. AOS bridges the gap between SWBH and the patients cancer centre.
Applicants, once fully trained and qualified will be expected to accurately assess and manage complex patient presentations to a high professional standard.
You will also have high standards of communication skills to be able to discuss patients and their care with a wide range of different members of the MDT, including the patients parent consultant team.
Work alongside a small AO Team to ensure the best care is provided to our patients.

- Significant post registration experience in acute medical care or haematology or oncology.
