Job summary
Neurophysiology are seeking to recruit a qualified clinical scientist or clinical physiologist to join the team for a fixed term maternity leave contract.
Based at the Birmingham Treatment Centre (BTC) we also provide inpatient Neurophysiology diagnostic services at the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH), which opened in October 2024.
Applicants should hold a relevant Neurophysiology degree and ideally ANS professional exams. Registration with Academy of Healthcare Science is essential.
Duties will include all EEG modalities including sleep, ambulatory and portable EEG and independent nerve conduction clinics.In addition the candidate will contribute to the running of the service on a day to day basis and areas of particular interest will be supported.
There is some requirement of training junior members of the team or wider health care professions.
Main duties of the job
- Performs a range of neurophysiology diagnostic tests and produces factual reports.
- Participates in the out of hours on call EEG rota
- Work collaboratively on a day-to-day basis with others to contribute to the smooth and efficient running of the service.
- Rotates between BTC and MMUH, approximately 4:1.
- Supervision of junior staff
- Participate in quality assurance, audit and/or research and development programmes
