Job summary
As a Staff Nurse on our Trauma and Orthopaedic ward, you will co-ordinate and provide skilled nursing (without direct supervision) to patients, in accordance with responsibilities under the NMC Code of Conduct.
You will contribute to the continued development of nursing, including the supervision of junior nurses and support staff andwork collaboratively within a Multidisciplinary team, internal and external to the organisation, to facilitate holistic seamless care delivery for all Trust Patients.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as part of the team within our Trauma and Orthopaedic ward to provide safe, effective, efficient care. They will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluations of care under indirect supervision of senior staff. They are expected to be able to demonstrate procedures and supervise unqualified staff and work without direct supervision once the key learning outcomes of the foundation programme is complete.
To liaise and effectively communicate with other members of the multi-disciplinary team to facilitate safe and timely discharge. Act as an advocate for patients and carers and communicate to ensure individual care needs are met.
