Sandwell & West Birmingham Nutrition & Dietetic Services are seeking to recruit an Advanced Dietitian into a newly created clinical leadership role within our expanding service. This is an exciting step for our service as we seek to build on our existing clinical leadership structure and strengthen our clinical representation as our services expand.
We are seeking an innovative individual who is driven to work within paediatric food allergy for our diverse population. Candidates will be joining a service at a time of considerable opportunity, working in the largest allergy service in the West Midlands. You will need to use highly developed interpersonal skills to foster strong relationships with a range of key stakeholders leading in a service that will strongly align with the paediatric allergy MDT.
The successful post holder will demonstrate advanced clinical knowledge and skills in paediatric allergy dietetics and a proven track record of leading for quality improvement within teams.
Our service covers all aspects of nutrition nursing & dietetic care across inpatient, community and outpatient pathways. The post-holder would join our existing paediatric leadership structure working alongside our Consultants & Advanced Nurse practitioners ; with the opportunity to work clinically with the chair of the Paediatric Allergy Committee at BSACI.
Main duties of the job
This is an exciting role at an exciting time for Dietetics, Allied Health Professionals and Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS trust as we seek to become the leading provider of integrated care bringing lots of opportunities for future development.
The successful post-holder will act as a lead clinician in our paediatric allergy services and will have the opportunity to work with MDT members to develop advanced skills in nutritional diagnosis and emergency management of paediatric allergy patients working alongside the multidisciplinary team to support the development of dietetic led food allergy pathways and nutritional care plans that support families to minimise the risk of food allergy being realised.
The Nutrition and Dietetics Department is a growing team of more than 40 dietitians and nutrition nurses; based across Sandwell and West Birmingham. We have regular departmental meetings, clinical supervision sessions and education meetings. Continuing professional development is promoted and supported.
The Department trains student dietitians from Coventry and Birmingham City Universities across the full range ofplacements.
