Job summary
These post are intended to maintain and develop the existing radiology service with the move to the new Midland Metropolitan University Hospital from October 2024. The successful candidates will be general radiologists with Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (or equivalent) and be on the Specialist Register or be within 6 months of their CCT at the time of interview. Wide training and experience in general radiology as well as experience in cross-sectional imaging is required. Experience in the following subspecialties is desirable - Uro Radiology, Gynae radiology, Paediatric Radiology and MSK Radiology - to complement the skills of consultant group. The successful candidate will be expected to take part in training and supervision of junior radiologists allocated to the Department
Main duties of the job
The posts will include sessions at Midland Metropolitan Hospital, Sandwell Hospital and City Hospital and the post-holder will be required to work at any of the Trust's sites, but with minimal cross site travel.
The department has established a DUTY radiologist in the working week, who is the main point of contact, with calls screened by a secretary, minimising interruptions in remaining reporting sessions.
This post is for consultant radiologists with special interest in a number of areas including MSK, Uro-radiology, Gynae and Paediatrics.
