Posts available in : Cardiology

We are seeking to recruit a number of enthusiastic and hardworking doctors to join our Cardiology Departments as Junior Specialty doctors at City Hospital, Birmingham and Sandwell General Hospital, West Bromwich. These posts can be short term or longer i.e. 4 to 6 months, or 12 months fixed term posts in the first instance starting from as soon as possible with the possibility of longer term opportunities within the Trust subject to performance and progress

Main duties of the job

These posts would be aimed at junior grade CT/ST 1-2 level (post qualification level) and whilst not approved training posts we would mirror the training opportunities to those given to training post holders.

The JSD GM posts will allow you to consolidate your experience in a supportive environment, giving you wide ranging clinical exposure and training in a progressive Trust that has won numerous national and local awards. We would be keen to work with successful applicants and help you continue to build your Cardiology Career.

We envisage that the JSD would act as a stepping stone into specialty training and we would look to encourage and fully support successful completion of Medicine exams. Opportunities will be available to develop skills in clinical cardiology and rota management.

About us

Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust (SWBT) is an integrated careorganisation with a budget of approximately £600 million and over 7,000 staff. Diversity and social care is at the core of what we do as the Trust provides Community and Acute Services to over half a million people in an urban centre that demands massive regeneration and has substantial premature mortality.

Our new acute hospital, the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH), opens this year and will provide care to our local population from first class, purpose-built premises. As a result, the base of this role may change to MMUH . If this is applicable to your role, you will be informed during the recruitment process and continue your application with this understanding. The development of the new hospital will play an important role in the regeneration of the wider area and in improving the lives of local people and reducing health inequalities.

We have three strategic objectives:

  1. Our People - to cultivate and sustain happy, productive and engaged staff
  2. Our Patients - to be good or outstanding in everything we do
  3. Our Population - to work seamlessly with our partners to improve lives
