Job summary

Exciting opportunities have arisen within our Rheumatology Service. We are seeking enthusiastic, driven senior nurses with excellent clinical skills to join the Department of Rheumatology.Our teams are based across our hospital sites.

We are looking for two individuals are highly motivated, able to work effectively within in a large multidisciplinary team, using their own initiative within their scope of practice.The successful candidates will have responsibility for the management of patients with complex conditions and will promote the service and deliver high quality care that is evidence based and reflects current best practice. They will work collaboratively within the Rheumatology team and be visible and accessible to patients, carers, and staff. The post holder will provide highly specialised advice, education, training, and support for patients and be responsible for the development of care pathways and nurse led initiatives to enhance services delivered. In the event recruitment to the Band 7 positions are not possible, there will be Band 6 to 7 development opportunities available. Relevant training and supervision will be provided to meet set objectives within these development roles.

Main duties of the job

For this role you must demonstrate that you are reliable and flexible. We care for patients with complex, multi-system health needs. We support patients from diagnosis and enable them to self-manage their long term conditions. We provide assessment and treatment, health education and support to patients to manage their conditions in clinic, via a telephone advice line and virtually using tele-medicine.

  • Evidence of previous resource management experience
  • In-depth knowledge of DMARD and Biologic Therapies
  • Experience and knowledge of Rheumatology.
  • Experience of audit and research initiatives
  • Able to undertake nurse-led clinics independently.

Desirable

  • Band 6 experience in Rheumatology

  • RN (Adult)
  • Current NMC registration.
  • Degree level qualification in health-related subject
  • Teaching and Assessing qualification
  • Independent Prescribing course (V300) or equivalent

Desirable

  • Counselling Skills Certificate qualification.

  • European Computer Driving Licence
  • Post graduate qualification relevant to Speciality or willing to work towards
