Job summary
We are seeking to recruit enthusiastic and hardworking doctor to join our Neonatal Department as Junior Specialist doctor higher at City Hospital, Birmingham. This post will be six months in the first instance starting from 3rd of June 2024 with the possibility of longer term opportunities within the Trust subject to performance, progress and vacancies. There is also a possibility to rotate to General Paediatrics if there are vacancies. These posts would be at aimed at junior grade ST4+ level and whilst not approved training posts we would mirror the training opportunities to those given to training post holders. The JSD Neonate post will allow you to consolidate your experience in a supportive Neonates environment, giving you wide ranging clinical exposure and training in a progressive Trust that has won numerous national and local awards. We would be keen to work with successful applicants and help you continue to build your Neonatal Career. We envisage that the JSD would act as a stepping stone into specialty training
The successful candidates will have foundation year training or equivalent and an interest in General Pediatrics and Neonates, full GMC Registration with a license to practice. Recent experience in Paediatrics or neonates is desirable but not essential. Knowledge of the workings of the NHS is preferable.

Main duties of the job

There is a clinical skills laboratory on the Acute Medical Unit which is the first in the UK.
