Job summary
Sandwell Community continence service is looking to recruit a band 6 nurse with a passion for continence nursing.
This is a full time position, you will need to be flexible and work well within a team as well as manage your own caseload. The post is suitable for experienced band 5 or 6 nurses with some experience of working within the field of continence.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our forward thinking service; you will be conducting holistic continence assessments either in clinics, domiciliary settings or residential homes, assessing and supporting patients and their carers to optimise their quality of life living with a bladder and /or bowel condition. You will be able to develop and extend your teaching skills and knowledge within a variety of different settings in subjects relevant to continence.
Car owner/driver essential.
Main duties of the job
Promoting continence and managing incontinence, acting as specialist resource for the Trust, specialising in supporting and educating patients, carers and staff.
Providing specialist holistic assessments in the home, clinic, Nursing and Residential home environment, including implementation of therapies, providing health promotional advice and supporting individuals, carers and other health care professionals on the use of specialist equipment.
Joint working with other healthcare professionals, attending MDT's and facilitation of District Nurse link meeting and patient support group meetings
Management and facilitation of the continence home delivery service.
Undertaking research and audits and involvement in policy and guideline development.
