Are you a Band 5 physiotherapist looking for an opportunity to develop your skills at a Band 6 level?

Or a Band 6 physiotherapist looking for greater diversity?

We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic physiotherapist aspiring to pursue a career within acute hospital and community services. We welcome applicants ready for a Band 6 post or those seeking a development opportunity as a transitional step into their first Band 6 role.

We offer a comprehensive Band 6 physiotherapy rotational scheme, which balances the development of specialist knowledge and skills with gaining a diverse experience in a range of care settings.

Main duties of the job

Our rotational scheme comprises seven desirable areas of clinical practice with each one lasting for nine months. The rotations include:

  • Critical Care and Surgery
  • Rapid Response Therapy Service and Frailty Intervention Team
  • Stroke and Neurological rehabilitation
  • Medicine Therapy Service
  • iCares Community services (Pathway 1)
  • Trauma and Orthopaedics
  • Inpatient rehabilitation (Pathway 2)

Each is a friendly team and will offer comprehensive induction and a supportive learning environment.

Successful applicants will play an active role in the development of services and will be part of delivering 7-day services including our out of hours respiratory on-call service.

Successful candidates will also be part of a cohesive peer group with the opportunity to undertake quality improvement project work to support the objectives of the services, Directorate and Clinical Group.

Within this rotational scheme there is an opportunity to request rotations of particular interest and flexible working applications will be supported wherever feasible.

Start dates into this role can also be negotiated for successful candidates.

About us

This is a particularly exciting time to join this rotational programme as many of the rotations will be based in our new acute hospital site - Midland Metropolitan University Hospital - due to open this year.

If you are enthusiastic about this role, feel you have the desirable attributes, and like diversity in your role, please apply for this fantastic opportunity. If you would like further details or would like to arrange an informal visit, please contact Sarah Oley on 07815 500103 or at saraholey@nhs.net .
