LOCUM CONSULTANT DERMATOLOGIST
We are seeking two or more enthusiastic Locum Consultant Dermatologist to join our Dermatology Team in our large teaching trust.
The new post holders will join a department of 5 Consultant Dermatologists, 2 Plastic Surgery colleagues, and a dedicated nursing and administration team based at the Birmingham Skin Centre, City Hospital. The successful candidates will join a well-established self-contained department with an outpatient area, skin theatre and minor procedures area, phototherapy suite, Cutaneous Allergy Unit and a regional Laser unit. Specialist services available in the department include dermatological surgery, tertiary cutaneous allergy, laser therapy, paediatric dermatology, skin cancer, vulval dermatology, and a biologics service.
Main duties of the job
The Trust is committed to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and has strong links to the University of Birmingham and Health Education West Midlands with the Dermatology department having both junior doctors in training, and as well as medical students. The department is involved in a variety of research activities with ample opportunities to contribute to these, or initiate relevant dermatology research projects.
The Trust is a key partner with the local commissioning group and the local authorities in the Right Care Right Here programme, which seeks to deliver a redevelopment of local health services. The programme includes one of the largest investments in the UK with new facilities in both the acute and community sectors. Included within this is the new Midland Metropolitan University Hospital.

Applicants must be included on the GMCs Specialist Register in Dermatology, or within 6 months of their expected date of receipt of a CCT, at the time of interview.
