Job summary
This post will involve providing organisational support to the Surgical Services Rota Manager and assist with the management of surgical staff rotas on a day-to-day basis liaising with Trust Bank, external staff agencies, medical staffing and Consultant colleagues. The role will also include coordinating start dates of new medical staff recruits and liaising with medical team to record annual leave requests.
Main duties of the job
The candidate will require a flexible approach to work, be able to work under pressure and multitask to meet deadlines. The candidate will be responsible for managing their own workload and reporting updates to the Rota Manager, and other senior managers as required.
To support the Surgical Services Directorate in respect of day-to-day robust rota management for the medical staffing teams by providing electronic timetabled rota templates to the sub-specialties in a timely manner and informing the relevant personnel of any changes.
To work with the Clinical Director and Speciality leads to ensure that staff utilisation on rotas is effective i.e., via the use of internal swaps, effective prospective cover arrangements and the management of all forms of leave/ absence.
To contact relevant staff and bank workers as required to fill gaps in the on-call rotas keeping rota leads and management appraised of progress.
