Paediatric Nursing could you make a difference for Children, Young People and Families!
We are looking to recruit enthusiastic compassionate and self-motivated nurses within the Paediatric Departments at Sandwell & West Birmingham Hospitals.
We provide fantastic opportunities for experienced and newly qualified nurses to join as we prepare to move to our new Acute Hospital Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH) in 2024.
MMUH has inpatient paediatric beds over 2 wards , which includes 2 HDU and 6 Adolescent beds. There will also be a six bedded Medical & Surgical day ward and Children's Outpatients.
The first UK clinical skills lab will be embedded within MMUH allowing emphasis on education within the department.
The Paediatric Inpatient Department currently consists of 3 inpatient areas Lyndon Ground, Lyndon 1 at Sandwell Site with a further PAU City Hospital- all of which relocating to MMUH during 2024.
You must be a Registered Children's Nurse (RNC's), Registered Nurse OR Registered Learning Disability Nurse OR Registered Nurse (adults), we will consider Children's Nurses due to qualify, with excellent clinical skills, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and committed to providing high standards of care for all our paediatric patients, their families, and carers.

- Be responsible for maintaining standards and quality in the day-to-day management of the unit. This role will enable you to gain and demonstrate skills in leadership and people management within the clinical environment.
- Primary responsibilities will be to care for the children and young people who attend the unit, inclusive of supporting and developing junior staff by being a mentor and role model.
- Provide a high standard of nursing care for Infants, Children and Young People, within a family centred environment, in accordance with unit philosophy, local and national guidelines.
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to take charge of any nursing shift as required.
