Job summary
An exciting opportunity has risen for a Band 6 midwife to work within an innovative and forward thinking Safeguarding Children Team. Working alongside the Deputy Named Midwives you will support the Safeguarding Named Midwife in ensuring that the Trust Maternity service meets its statutory obligations for safeguarding whilst driving forward the safeguarding agenda.
We are seeking a highly experienced midwife with significant experience of safeguarding, who can demonstrate a sound knowledge base and skills to improve the outcomes for children and the associated legislative requirements.

Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will need to be able to work both under direction and independently within the safeguarding team, in an innovative and creative manner to ensure the maternity staff awareness of the growing safeguarding agenda. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the Safeguarding Named Midwife and therefore you will require excellent communication, organisational and presentation skills. Additionally, this role will involve supporting the Safeguarding Children Team to meet all training commitments.
