Job summary
We are seeking to recruit a Band 6 midwives who are highly motivated, ambitious, kind and enthusiastic with an interest in bereavement, to join our bereavement team who are committed to provide sensitive holistic care to parents and their families following a baby loss during pregnancy or soon after a baby has been born
.We are rated "GOOD" at the last CQC inspection.
As a trust, we care for approximately 6000 births every year and cover a very diverse population. This is an exciting opportunity for band 6 midwives, who are passionate about making a difference to join our bereavement team of highly skilled midwives in maternity.
We want to help you develop and enhance your skills and maximize your potential in all aspects of midwifery. We actively encourage staff development and have a fantastic clinical education team to provide our in house, multidisciplinary professional development training. We have excellent links with local universities for post registration development.
The midwife who will join the bereavement team will have the opportunity to develop their skills in bereavement care and also provide continuity of care into next pregnancy
This post requires UK NMC qualification, which is gained after completion of OSCE, please do not apply if you have not done this.
Main duties of the job
Our maternity Consultant Led Obstetric Unit - consisting of high risk labour and birth rooms (including one fixed birth pool room), High Dependency Care beds, 2 obstetric theatres and recovery areas, bereavement suite and maternity triage area.
As a bereavement midwife you will be allocated to care for mothers and their family while they are inpatient and will deliver care to women and their families during the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal period, you will be an advocate for women and their families in accordance with the philosophy and standards of care within the are, ensuring that trust values and beliefs are upheld.
As the bereavement midwife you will have a fundamental role in the delivery of high standard of bereavement and midwifery care
