Applications are invited for a 0.5 WTE Education Fellowship post supporting Undergraduate medical education at Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust (SWB).
We are looking for an enthusiastic doctor with an interest in Medical Education who wishes to develop this area further as a Clinical Teaching Fellow (CTF).
Clinical Teaching Fellows are an integral part of the Undergraduate Teaching Academy for the development and delivery of teaching to medical students from both Aston University (AMS) and University of Birmingham (UoB).
Main duties of the job
In addition CTFs will be supported to complete a certificate in postgraduate medical education (PGCME) or equivalent during the post (if desired).
The post-holder will be hospital-based and the clinical teaching will take place at Sandwell and City Hospitals and at our new Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH) when opened.
The posts will suit doctors seeking to develop teaching skills and further their clinical interests before entering Core or Higher Specialist Training. A minimum of 2 years' postgraduate experience (usually Foundation training) is required. The post will be for one year, starting 2nd August 2023. The CTFs work as a team to provide ward and simulation based teaching, as well as mentorship to groups of students.
