Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust is a large organisation running hospitals and community services across the West Bromwich and West Birmingham areas. We are looking for a proactive digital media officer to join our communications team to support the delivery of our digital media channels.
Reporting to our internal communications and engagement manager, you will have sound technical skills to help you support the maintenance of our day-to-day web, intranet and social media activities, and ensure that the content is continually fresh, engaging and user-focused. You'll have the ability to produce, film and edit engaging video content and help support and grow the organisation's digital presence, through a range of exciting digital projects and campaigns. You'll be passionate about creating online content that's accessible to all audiences.
The role requires you to have excellent written, organisational and analytical skills, and good attention to detail. You will also be able to analyse performance data and have a good understanding digital technologies, usability and trends.

Main duties of the job
To provide a comprehensive digital media service to Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust (SWB). The post holder will be expected to use the full communications and marketing mix in delivering an effective internal and external communications service to maintain and enhance SWB's reputation and profile. This will include digital communications, engagement and marketing activities, website development, social media, event management and publications.
The post holder will act as an integral member of the communications team, fulfilling the core team functions as required.

- Develop appropriate and engaging digital content and be the central point of contact for all online digital communications and digital marketing activities for SWB including monitoring and evaluating effectiveness.
- Act as overall editor for the corporate website and intranet, overseeing day-to-day delivery.
- Keep up to date with best practice and industry trends related to digital marketing communications. Advise and train colleagues as appropriate.
- Produce, film, and edit video content for both internal and external audiences.
- Deliver complete website management using Content Management Systems, Google Analytics and WordPress ensuring the SWB website and intranet are fully change controlled and templates/plug ins are maintained/updated where required.
- Develop and manage the Trusts internal communications bulletin.
- Create and deploy email campaigns, forms and landing pages for campaigns and track and evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns.
- Provide media support using the latest technologies to be used in communications including filming and editing.
- Support the Internal Communications and Engagement Manager to ensure digital presence is secure and available technically and specialist assurance is provided and any vulnerabilities or weaknesses are addressed.
- Support the production of writing internal magazine articles, taking photographs, planning content e.g. video, liaising with designers and advertisers.
- Develop digital communications systems within the Trust to support effective sharing of information between all staff groups and external audiences.
- Provide digital media support to Trust wide campaigns as necessary.
- Ensure Patient Information points, noticeboards and other relevant outlets have appropriate information about the Trust.
- Coordinate production of good quality information for staff.
- Develop and manage digital content for the Trusts website and intranet and take a proactive role in the further development of both sites ensuring they have latest tools and supporting products to maximize our online digital presence.

- Handle requests for information appropriately adhering to NHS information governance guidelines.
