Job summary

To provide clinical, research and administrative support to the psychological therapies staff in community forensic services, under their direct guidance and supervision, in order to assist in providing and monitoring the service provision within the Directorate.

The post holder must hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car/vehicle to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).

Main duties of the job

Administer and score appropriate formal psychometric assessment instruments and other forms of assessment and compile reports and careplans as appropriate.

Facilitate individual and group based offence based intervention and structured groups such as forensic risk reduction, emotion regulation, thinking skills and other similar groups as relevant to the needs of the patient population, under direct supervision of a qualified psychologist. In addition, to collect and formulate information from the protocols for use in future treatment planning.

Involvement in audit and research as required, and activities designed to improve quality within the service. Assist in co-ordinating work experience / shadowing opportunities for external psychology graduates.

As a Psychologist in training, you will have regular performance review meetings and be expected to have achieved your Qualification within 2 years of commencement in your role.

The ideal candidate will already be working towards becoming a chartered Forensic, Counselling or Clinical Psychologist and be at least on year into studying for this Doctorate Qualification. You will also need to have experience of working with mentally disordered offenders and experience of undertaking research and collation and evaluation of data.
