Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 5 Staff Nurse within the East Kent Community Rehabilitation Service, at Ethelbert Rd.
Ethelbert Rd is situated in the centre of Canterbury and is one of 6 Rehabilitation Units across Kent, which provides specialist inpatient rehabilitation for individuals with complex mental health needs. The unit comprises of 8 single bedrooms and is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The multidisciplinary team provides a wide range of individualised interventions delivered by nursing, medical, psychological, occupational therapy and peer support clinicians.
As a Staff Nurse, you would be the named nurse for a small caseload of clients and be expected to coordinate a recovery-focused, individualised plan of care; in addition to supporting the service users through the rehabilitation pathway.
Main duties of the job
- Work across a 24 hour shift pattern, 7 days a week.
- Manage the shift when on duty and coordinate the workload for junior staff; delegation.
- Have a good understanding of the Mental Health Act, Safeguarding frameworks and clinical documentation.
- Administer and dispense medication (medication management).
- Champion recovery orientated practice, to include group work, contribute to and facilitate the therapeutic intervention programme.
- Follow Health and Safety protocols and policies.
- Risk Management and patient safety.
- Deliver effective and quality care alongside patients
