Trust Sponsorship Lead

Job summary

As Trust Sponsorship Lead you will be responsible for the processing of skilled worker visa applications for current employees who require a renewal and new starters to the organisation where sponsorship has been agreed.

To process tasks in line with UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) guidelines and the Trust's policies and ensure systems, documentation and standard operating procedures are regularly reviewed and updated.

To undertake other right to work related tasks as and when required, ensuring data is transferred successfully between various departments to enable smooth reporting processes.

To be the Trust's subject matter expert on visas and sponsorship in relation to employment and track, monitor and coordinate all sponsored workers, ensuring any changes to employment are captured and reported to UKVI as appropriate.

To plan for and coordinate the end-to-end process of sponsorship renewals, making payments in line with trust financial policies. To consider requests for sponsorship carefully, using judgement to provide advice and make decisions about whether sponsorship is required and/or necessary.

Main duties of the job

  • To be the Trust's subject matter expert on visas and sponsorship in relation to employment.
  • To track, monitor and coordinate all sponsored workers, ensuring any changes to employment are captured and reported to UKVI as appropriate.
  • To plan for and coordinate the end-to-end process of sponsorship renewals, making payments in line with trust financial policies.
  • To be responsible for creating/amending forms and policies relating to the sponsorship process acrossthe Trust.
  • To assist in the up-skilling of recruitment team members in relation to the sponsorship process.
  • To create plans and strategies that enable the trust to handle new sponsorship requests and the ongoing maintenance of sponsored workers, to reduce the risk of illegal working. Plans and strategies must align with the financial situation of the Trust and the guidelines in place concerning budget usage.
  • To keep abreast of national and local policies concerning right to work, visa's and sponsorship, ensuring key changes in law and/or application of policy are discussed with the recruitment manager and wider recruitment team.
  • To attend events as and when required to support the wider recruitment team.
  • To support international recruitment campaigns as and when require
  • To produce reports to detail the organisation's level of compliance with right to work and sponsorship requirements, disseminating these to relevant stakeholders.

  • Post-graduate level HR qualification or equivalent level of specialist knowledge gained through experience and evidence of relevant CPD.
