Job summary

Please note, at this stage, the role is open only to internal staff (including NHSP and Agency staff currently on placement within our organisation) and staff substantively employed within Kent and Medway NHS Trusts and the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB). Any individual who is at risk of redundancy will be given priority, provided they meet the essential criteria.

We are looking for a Band 5 Moving & Handling Facilitator to join our busy team based at St Martins Hospital in Canterbury, however, the base is negotiable.

You will be responsible for delivering manual handling courses, providing advice and guidance to meet the needs of staff at all levels within the Trust. Promote legal compliance with the Manual Handling Operations Regulations, Lifting Equipment Regulations and the Provisions of Use of Work Equipment Regulations.

The post holder must hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car/vehicle to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).

You will be required to wear a uniform, which will be provided.

Main duties of the job

Communicate and work with others to ensure KMPT staff have access to suitable training, documentation and support, to conduct handling tasks according to the Trust Safer Handling Policy and supportive legislation.

Liaise with own team, team managers and company representatives to ensure equipment is modern, in a safe condition and appropriate for the task and patient ability. Work flexibly to ensure training schedules match the recruitment rate peaks when required. Conduct oneself with positivity, the highest example demonstrating daily the team commitment to safety, dignity, comfort and respect for all.
