Job summary
Thanet Mental Health Together Plus Team are currently looking to recruit to a Band 3 full-time Support time recovery worker, this post will be based at The Beacon Community Mental Health Team in the coastal town of Ramsgate.
Our service focuses on promoting recovery for those people diagnosed with severe and enduring mental ill health. We provide comprehensive multi-disciplinary services and work closely with local specialist mental health teams (e.g. Early Intervention Service, Home Treatment Teams, MIMHS) tertiary service providers, primary care, Kent Police, local statutory and non-statutory agencies, service users & carers.
The post holder must hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car/vehicle to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).
Main duties of the job
The main elements of community mental health support work focus on collaborative working with service users to promote engagement and to facilitate an optimum level of independence and self-management.
Our expectation is that you will endeavour to establish therapeutic relationships within which to address recovery goals in order to help service users to gain access to a range of resources and services to facilitate involvement and connection with the local community.
You will work closely with occupational therapists and to assist nursing staff with the effective functioning of a depot/clozapine clinic that will include well-being checks. Visiting people at their own home as required as well as participation in groups with Psychology and Occupational Therapy and opportunities to run groups with Occupational Therapists
What you can expect once you join the team:
- Monthly supervision (clinical and managerial)
- Being part of the clinic staff supporting nurses with physical health monitoring for patients receiving Depot injections or clozapine blood monitoring.
- Opportunity to train in venepuncture and to perform ECG's
- MDT Risk Forum to discuss complex cases with high risks
- Mandatory Training
- Admin support
