We are looking for a full-time enthusiastic and committed senior clinical/counselling psychologists or psychotherapists to perform at a band 7, and join our well established and dynamic service in adult mental health for people who live in Dartford and the countryside surrounding areas, in Kent.

The post holders will be based at Arndale House, within the Dartford Psychological Therapies service which includes psychological clinicians of several disciplines and trainees. The Dartford Secondary Care Psychological Therapies service works closely and in collaboration with the Medway Community Mental Health team as integrated services to provide a comprehensive service to adults with complex and longstanding mental health conditions and emotional difficulties.

You will have the opportunity to be involved in providing assessment and treatment (individual and group), participating in multidisciplinary staff development and supervision, enhancing the provision of psychological therapies for adult mental health, service development and evaluation, and a take part in a monthly programme of continuing professional development. Training and supervision will be available.

Main duties of the job

? To be responsible for the systematic provision of a Specialist Psychology Service to clientswith complex and longstanding mental health difficulties as referred from the secondarycare mental health service within the West Kent Psychological Therapies service.? To undertake high-quality direct (assessment and therapeutic) and indirect (consultative,advisory and evaluative) specialist psychology interventions in these services makingautonomous clinical decisions about own professional practice.? To ensure the clinical effectiveness of own practice and of service functioning byundertaking research and development activities relevant to the service area.? To work as part of the multi-disciplinary team of the West Kent Secondary Care CommunityMental Health Team.

What is High Cost Area Allowance?

The High-Cost Area (HCA) allowance, also referred to as London Weighting is a payment made to employees who work in London and the surrounding areas.

As this post is based in Dartford, Gravesham or Swanley, the successful applicant will receive an additional payment each month.

  • 5% of basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £1,192 per year and a maximum payment of £2,011 per year (the agreed annual amount will be divided into 12 equal amounts and paid monthly)

The salary listed is inclusive of the High-Cost Area Allowance.

We have strong links with the South Thames Clinical Psychology Training Centre in Tunbridge Wells, attached to Christ Church University in Canterbury and our service is in the process if offering an annual rotation of both first and third year trainees on placement who join our service. These links also provide access to a wide variety of post-qualification training courses and events.
