The Medway Community Mental Health Team in Gillingham is seeking a Mental Health Practitioner - Duty Worker (Band 6) with a background in Registered Mental Health Nursing.
Qualifications:

- Continuing professional development evidence
- Experience working in a community setting (desirable)

Summary of the Duty Worker role in mental health: Responsibilities:
- Provideadvice and supportto:
- Known service users:Individuals who have previously accessed the mental health service.
- New service users:Individuals seeking help for the first time.
- Other professionals:Offering guidance and information to healthcare professionals encountering mental health situations.
- Conducturgent assessmentsfor individuals needing immediate support.
Key points:
- No caseload management:The duty worker is not responsible for ongoing care of individual clients.
- Focus on severe and enduring mental illness:Serves individuals with conditions requiring specialized care.
- Collaborative approach:Works within a multi-disciplinary team, collaborating with various mental health specialists, primary care providers, and community agencies.
- Required skills:
- Strong initiative and self-motivation.
- Excellent teamwork and communication abilities.
- Knowledge of advanced nursing interventions and community assessment skills.
- Willingness to undergo relevant training.
Overall, the Duty Worker role plays a crucial role in providing initial support, assessment, and referral for individuals experiencing severe and enduring mental health challenges.
