Job description
Job responsibilities
The Research Informatics Associate will be supported by the Research Development Lead to move forward the implementation, development and maintenance of tasks relating to Informatics solutions for research infrastructure.
The main project will be to act as the administrator for the CRIS (Clinical Record Interactive Search) project and to work with the AKRIVIA Health network. The network is a group of highly innovative NHS Mental Health Trusts who are working together to accelerate research work in dementia and mental health. These Trusts are utilising technology and robust information governance measures to enable research, audit and service evaluation to take place. The CRIS technology allows Trusts to examine data at a scale that was not possible previously, helping organisations to analyse how services are performing, develop new understanding about disease and care delivery, and efficiently carry out feasibility work for research studies and clinical trials. All this is to develop a better understanding of the care and interventions being provided today (and in the future) so we can improve patient experience, safety and health outcomes.
The Clinical Record Interactive Search (CRIS) system unlocks and transforms both structured and unstructured clinical data held in the electronic clinical records systems of selected NHS Trust systems to provide Trust staff and authorised researchers with regulated access to a wide range of pseudonymised information. This information can be used to identify patient cohorts and conduct research or used for service evaluation and clinical audit.
A key function of the role will be the prioritisation of applications for CRIS searches, supporting the applicant with establishing their search requirements, performing the required analysis, and producing meaningful outputs and interpretation of reports. This may involve resolving complex queries where there is a range of possible answers and communicating these complexities to non-information specialists
The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of a high quality service to the Trust and partners.
The post holder will also be a lead contributor to the design, implementation, continual review and development of performance, information and reporting systems for the KMPT CRIS system.
CRIS Implementation and Performance
Ongoing Development of CRIS system
