We are looking for a dynamic mental health nurse to join our inpatient team on Walton
PICU, a 14-bed Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit. You will be working within the Wakefield Acute Pathway, based at Fieldhead Hospital.
Walton PICU also facilitates the safe operation of the Wakefield 136 suite,
supporting people in crisis deemed to need assessment in a safe place. This
allows for excellent opportunities to work closely with partner agencies including West
Yorkshire Police and the local authority.
You will be working on a PICU for adults of working age, in an environment
where excellent communication skills are essential in gaining a clear
understanding of our service users particular issues, so working collaboratively with them to support them in their recovery and care
pathway. You will be friendly, approachable and
professional with a confident and capable approach that will instil confidence
in others. You will have a solution focused approach and a can-do attitude and the ability to develop helpful and respectful
relationships with service users, peers and MDT colleagues that foster teamwork
and positive attitudes.

Main duties of the job
