We wish to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic Principal Clinical Psychologist to join the team and support the Consultant Clinical Psychologist in providing clinical leadership to the Community Psychology Team.
You will join an experienced and committed specialist MDT based at Fieldhead Hospital, covering the Wakefield region. The Community Psychology team works closely with Learning Disability Nurses, Psychiatry and Allied Health Professionals including Physiotherapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Dietetics.

Main duties of the job
We are seeking an experienced Clinical Psychologist to provide leadership in the Clinical Psychology team, leading on specific pathway development. We support PWLD and ASC across Wakefield community. We provide a diagnostic service for LD and ASC and contribute to MDT dementia assessments. We work therapeutically with the full range of psychological and emotional difficulties, provide advice and consultation, and support the development of psychological thinking within care homes through formulation and staff training. Your role will include clinically supervising other clinical and assistant psychologists and managing the community psychology referrals and waiting lists.
We are linked to the Doctoral Training Programme at the University of Leeds and offer regular placements to Trainees, with opportunities for teaching and training on the programme and within the service. We are committed to supporting you to develop your skills and practice through supervision and CPD.
