Wakefield CAMHS are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Mental Health Practitioner to take on a clinical leadership role within the service. The Practitioner would work within the Eating Disorder Team which has recently expanded due to investments. The Eating Disorder Team is a multi-disciplinary team and you will work closely with Psychiatrists and Dieticians to ensure the delivery of a comprehensive tailored package to meet the needs of the individual.
This position is ideal for someone who has a strong experience of working with children and young people with an eating disorder diagnosis or disorder eating.
The successful candidate will offer assessments and screenings, hold a caseload of children and young people and support with pathway developments within the team and wider service. You would be expected to offer support to young people admitted to a general hospital for physical health concerns and deliver groups to families and carers.

Main duties of the job
Undertaking assessments and initial screening appointments
- Offering clinical supervision to staff within the Eating Disorder Team and within Wakefield CAMHS
- Holding a caseload of young people and families and delivering therapeutic intervention
- Supporting the Clinical Lead and Team Manager to develop the pathways within The Eating Disorder Team
- Supporting children, young people and families that are recently discharged from inpatient settings
Monitor physical health needs (blood pressure, pulse, weight etc).
