We are currently seeking to recruit a Band 3 Support Worker into the Wakefield Early Intervention in Psychosis Service (Insight Team). The team covers the Wakefield locality, working with people aged 14 to 65 and stretches across adult and childrens services. The team forms part of the community service line and Enhanced Pathway within the Wakefield BDU. The post holder would be expected to work across the Wakefield area with a named base currently in the Drury Lane Health & Wellbeing Centre.
You need to be an individual who is self motivated, enthusiastic, and who has a desire to work to improve life chances of people who may be experiencing their first episode in psychosis. This can take a lot of patience, requiring keen skills in creative engagement.
The right value base and attitude is just as important to us as experience. Working within an Early Intervention Team demands the ability to challenge traditional medical models and embrace a psychosocial approach to delivering care.
You will need to demonstrate your continuing professional development since the point of qualification and how this can transfer to the role. You need to be open to enhancing your current skills through in house training and the shadowing of team members. You must be willing to attend external training as required for the post.

You will provide highly specialist skills and expertise, facilitating interventions of the highest quality in the field of mental health, including emergency assessments and intensive interventions with children, young people and their families. Work autonomously and collaboratively within the MDT, providing consultation and teaching for other agencies/professionals. Provide supervision and teaching to all other disciplines within Insight EIP. Promote safeguarding and the welfare of children and young people
