a full-time Individual Placement and Support (IPS) Team Leader (Band 6) to join
our IPS service in Wakefield. For people who need mental health support,
getting back into work is a vital step on their recovery journey.
To be successful in this opportunity
to develop and enhance our service, the ideal candidate will need to be
motivated, organised and enthusiastic whilst having a thorough understanding of
the employment barriers faced by people with mental health conditions. We
welcome applications from individuals with proven track records in leading and
managing others as well as experience of using performance data to demonstrate
service quality and outcomes. A background in employment support and/or
health/social care would be helpful as you will need to understand the
complexities of serious mental health difficulties in the context of finding
and sustaining paid employment.

Main duties of the job
As an IPS Team Leader you will be supporting and motivating
a team of Employment Specialists working across secondary care community mental
health teams (CMHTs), providing supervision, training and mentoring using the
principles of the IPS model. This is a dynamic and diverse role, where the
ability to network in the local community and build strong relationships is
essential.
The role will involve:
Undertaking a central role in developing and leading a high-quality
service that adheres to the principles of IPS best practice, delivering
positive outcomes for clients
Coaching, mentoring, and managing performance of the
Employment Specialists guiding them on best practice and achieving individual
and team KPIs. This will include facilitating weekly team meetings,
individual/group supervision, and regular opportunities for field mentoring
with the Employment Specialists
Directly engaging with a range of stakeholders (e.g.,
CMHTs, DWP, third sector, employers etc.)

Monitor and manage performance of
the IPS Employment Specialists guide them individually on best practice
and achieving individual and team KPIs including job outcome targets.
Support their team to undertake
fidelity reviews in line with the IPS model and develop a culture of continual
improvement in quality and fidelity to the IPS model.
Identify training needs of staff
and arrange appropriate training to support with continuous professional
development and empower your staff.
Support the design and delivery of
in-house staff training and development (including facilitating peer
learning and best practice).
Involve service users in
co-production of service developments where possible.
Coordinate the work of Employment
Specialists in Kirklees in relation to building relationships with
employers to effectively access the hidden labour market, external
agencies and delivery of job seeking groups.
Review assessments, outcome plans
and progress reviews for completeness, quality and consistency with our
strengths-based principles.
Produce regular monitoring reports
for internal and external stakeholders, including commissioners.
Manage a
small caseload of up to 5 service users at any one time. With this
caseload, you will undertake comprehensive
assessments of individuals with complex health and well-being needs,
developing vocational profiles of the individuals employment needs and
abilities, and formulating an employment action/care plan whilst liaising
with the care coordinator.
Identify barriers for service
excellence and work with internal and external stakeholders to implement
solutions to ensure a high-fidelity service.
Ensure quality assurance around service
